The city of Palm Coast Fire Dept. is inviting the public to the blessing of the newly installed Safe Haven Baby Box. Fr. Manny Lopez will formally bless the baby box on Tuesday, Sept. 30, 2025. The dedication ceremony will begin at 3:00 PM at Palm Coast Fire Station #25. The address is 1250 Belle Terre Parkway. The Knights of Columbus would like to thank District #17 KofC Councils, the Kiwanis Club, and the parishioners of SMdM for their generous donations and support of this project.

This Safe Haven Baby Box marks the third one to be installed in the state of Florida.

Notre Dame Knights of Columbus Council 10514 will be offering a minimum of four scholarship awards of $1,000 each for the 2026 – 27 school year. The grants will be awarded in April 2026.

Applicant must be a member of Santa Maria del Mar Parish and looking to pursue undergraduate studies in a two or four year college or technical school. Applicant may be an entering freshman or upper classman.

Each applicant will be asked to write an essay to include:

• What school or schools are you looking to attend
• What is your intended course of study
• What are the goals you hope to achieve
• What activities have you been involved in:
• Parish
• School
• Community
• Free time (hobbies)
• How would the grant monies be used

Submit your essay along with two letters of recommendation; one from the parish and one from a friend or relative over the age of 18. Submission should be received by December 1, 2025.

Essay and recommendation letter should be submitted in a sealed envelope addressed to “KofC 10514, Attention: Scholarship Committee”. Please leave the envelope in the SMdM church office. Please include your phone number and email address with the submission.

All men of Santa Maria del Mar Parish are invited to join us for a new program sponsored by the Knights of Columbus, called Cor, which is Latin for “heart”.

The mission of Cor is to refocus Catholic men on Jesus Christ and to form and strengthen them in faith and virtue through a brotherhood committed to prayer, formation, and fraternity.

We will meet and have refreshments in the Parish Hall on the 2nd Wednesday of each month from 6:30pm to 8:00pm.  Please bring your Bible and Rosary!  The topics of the first three meetings are:

• October 8: The Rosary using Scripture
• November 12: Lectio Divina for the upcoming Sunday Gospel
• December 10: The Chaplet of Divine Mercy
